Moss Beach Kombucha began with a culinary degree and a dream. Founder Douglas Nelson has always enjoyed entertaining friends and family with good food and drink.
Hospitality is a large part of his life mission. Concocting great tasting kombucha from scratch started as a hobby. "Some of our house guests seemed to enjoy my homemade brew," Nelson said. "So I started tinkering in the lab and came up with some amazing flavors."
After graduating from culinary college in San Francisco (CCSF ‘16), Douglas took a leap of faith and launched MBK in 2017.
Good taste was what he was going for in the homebrew, years ago. Good taste is what you find in a bottle of MBK, today.
Moss Beach Kombucha uses real California Meyer lemons, juice from ginger, tisanes from hibiscus, celery, and lavender, and a tincture of cayenne made from Half Moon Bay Distillery’s Purissima vodka. Everything we use is organic and we are as local as we can be.
